Ok, created a 3-ring notebook for all things Frazzle Free Christmas. Duh. Should have done this a long time ago. In it goes The Plan and the Christmas card address list and leftover stamps and return labels, for starters. Somehow I resolve to keep the notebook in the vicinity of the actual cards already bought...
Oh, printing these recipes too, for the notebook:

here's to 2010
So, I tried the Frazzle Free method. And honestly, despite all my organization, which really was considerably more than in previous years, I think I was more frazzled than ever. Maybe it was the utter lack of sleep in the last few days, resulting in an Oscar-worthy Christmas afternoon meltdown. Complete with tears, and being on my knees. That's all I'm saying about that. Maybe it was something about having it all spelled out in The Plan form that makes you realize how very much there is to do. Maybe it's less than supportive family members who shall remain nameless and Scrooge-like despite your best efforts. Maybe it's certain drama-makers who really should be named and shamed but I am still feeling a speck of Christmas generosity so I will resist. After all, I was the one in tears and on my knees, who am I to judge really.
All I know is, eight weeks ain't hardly enough. So I'm starting now. That's right, it's 3 days after Christmas 2009 and I'm on to 2010. Who's with me? Say, eight months? That will make me done by my birthday in August. I like the sound of that.
I bought my Christmas cards for half price at Target on the 26th. They aren't as charmingly homemade as this year's, but hey, they'll get done on time. And I can take an inventory of my decorations (week three) as I take them down this week. And I already have my gift list fresh in my mind. It's not as insane as it sounds. No, really.
